Olinda Ranch Master Planned Community

City of Brea

The Olinda Ranch is a premier master planned community. It is a result of coordinated efforts between several master developers, five homebuilders, multiple engineering firms and a host of agencies, including federal, state, county, and city. Olinda Ranch is on a 280-acre site designed to include 660 residential lots and community areas that consist of parks, public art, hiking trails, bike paths, a historical center, equestrian trails, and wildlife corridors.

The project is located in the area known as Brea-Olinda.  The area was settled in the 1800s for farming and agriculture.  An oil boom hit the area in the late 1800s and changed the complexion of the region.  When the Olinda Ranch development began in 1997, the oil fields consisted of active and abandoned wells, storage, and transmission facilities.  This added to the multiple technical challenges of the site, which included a flood basin, nearby earthquake fault, hillside terrain, naturally occurring oil and methane gas seepage, and the design and development of infrastructure necessary to support development.

Today, Olinda Ranch is a community of homes whose residents enjoy views of the hillsides and vistas that stretch to Catalina Island.  Adjacent is Carbon Canyon Regional Park with its abundance of amenities.  Nearby are the mountain bike trails leading into the expansive Chino Hills State Park.
