Vail Lake Dam Monitoring

Hall & Foreman’s monitoring of Vail Lake Dam allows the Rancho California Water District (RCWD) to successfully comply with State Compliance standards for monitoring the effects of seismic activity on dams.

The monitoring consists of taking very precise horizontal and vertical measurements of the dam to monitor settlement, displacement, or movements experienced by the dam over the course of the year. The measurements are all compared with readings from previous years to monitor movements. A summary of findings with various charts and exhibits is provided to RCWD for their use in evaluating the dam and complying with State requirements.
